M. de Fremont is escorting Mme de Gentilly to her coach while the Cadinal’s guards are coming.
The other half of the guards is behind the tavern, two of them enter the back room of the tavern.

The guards near the tavern charge the plotters while the other group of guards climbs up and down the manor’s walls.
M. de Saint-Fiacre who leads the guards is followed by Saint-Hilaire et Bignolles. M. de Chaumette is on the front line with Le Bihan and Tirelaine.
La Peronniere, Mouzillon and attack M. de Fremont who protects the escape of Mme de Gentilly. Lafleur and Mondous arrive to help their master.
While M. de Morlay and Chambaudier are in the tavern, the fights go on outside.
Mme de Gentilly reaches the coach as M. de Morlay and Chambaudier go out of the tavern.
M. de Saint-Fiacre and M. de Chaumette are severely wounded.
M. de Fremont resists bravely but Lafleur and Mondous are now out of action !
M. Fremont is forced to fight against multiple opponents.
The other plotters resist.
Mme de Gentilly is now in the coach but Bignolles manages to climb in.
Mme de Gentilly is finally captured and the plotters surrender.
