The Cardinal’s guards arrive in three groups, one is on the bridge, another near the blacksmith
and the last one behind the old tower. Mme de Gentilly is protected by M. de Chaumette, Chastel and Mondous,
while M. de Fremont and the plotters are near the coach.
Lafleur is ready to welcome the guards.
M. de Chaumette fires at the guards and wounds one.
M. de Fremont, M. de Chassagne and Tirelaine advances towards the guards who come from the bridge.
Le Bilan exits the Manor’s courtyard and urges to help Lafleur, alone against 3 guards.
But he finally decided to help M. de Fremont.
Lafleur is no match for the 3 guards. Mme de Gentilly tries to move to her coach. M. de Chassagne is wounded.
But the three guards have reached the coach !
Mme de Gentilly doesn’t know what to do ? M. de Chaumette has wounded another guard. Could he help her ?
Tirelaine is wounded and Mme de Gentilly tries to reach the coach.
Unfortunately, the guards arrive in front of the coach.
Saint-Hilaire drags Mme de Gentilly away from the coach while all the fighters regroup near the coach in a deseperate melée.
M. de Fremont is finally down and the plotters surrender !
