Here is William (Guillaume) des Roches, Seneschal of Anjou, Lord of Longue-Jumelle and Château-du-loir,with Amaury de Craon, his son -in-law and his retinue. William des Roches, a norman knight, went to the 3rd crusade with king Richard Lion Heart.

After the death of Richard I, William decided to follow Arthur, duke of Brittany ( Geoffrey’s posthumous son). But he quickly considered the young Plantagenest as a pawn in king Philippe II of France’s hand. So he joined John Lackland, trying to bring the uncle and the nephewn back together. He led the english forces during the battle of Mirebeau in 1202 (with the promise from John that the young duke will be safe). When he learned about Arthur’s doom, William des Roches became a fierce opponent of John and finally joined the king of France when Philippe II attacked Normandy in 1204.

The figures are from Curteys Miniatures.
